MelonArt is an unusual breeding program initiated by Prof. Rafi Perl-Treves, a cucurbit geneticist from Bar-Ilan University, Israel. Recently the IP rights have been released from the University and MelonArt was born, with Ms. Tamar Lavee as associate breeder and Mr. Gerry Kelman as business counselor and Erika Debrezceni as adjunct  breeder. Starting from exotic germplasm, MelonArt develops novel fruit-types for the novelty fruit-segment of the market. MelonArt varieties are characterized by sweetness, aroma, interesting skin patterns such as stripes and streaks, and small to medium fruit size. Briefly, our melon resemble no other melon..!
